Fan

Fan was a science fiction fanzine by Walter Daugherty.

Published in Los Angeles, California, U.S.A. in the 1940s,

Issue 2 was released July 1945, and was 30 pages. It featured the cover art of Joe Gibson (later co-editor of G2), along with the heading "Presenting The Hasse Volume"; it was devoted to the science fiction writer Henry Hasse, and was largely given over to four short stories by the author.

Issue 5 appeared in October 1945, and featured a fan census.

Contributors of art work included Joe Gibson, among others.

Contributions of articles included "Science Fiction Fans Are Stub(born)" by Forrest J Ackerman (Voice of the Imagi-Nation).

Along with Atres Artes, Black Flames, Chanticleer, En Garde, Guteto, Ichor, Le Zombie, Lethe, Nova, Shangri L'Affaires, The Timebinder, and Voice of the Imagi-Nation, Fan was included in the anthology fanzine Pacificon Combozine for the 1946 Pacificon Fourth World Science-Fiction Convention in July 1946.

Earlier in the 1940s, Walter Daugherty and Forrest J Ackerman co-founded the fanzine Shangri L'Affaires; Daugherty also published the titles Fanewscard and "Walt’s Wramblings".
