Chanticleer was a science fiction fanzine published by Walt Liebscher.
Chanticleer was published in Battle Creek, Michigan, U.S.A. in the 1940s. The first two issues featured colorful silk screen covers, and all issues featured creative typed borders done by editor Leiebscher.
Contributors included Al Ashley, Robert Bloch, Burton Crane, Louis Russell Chauvenet, Ray Karden, Francis T. Laney (The Acolyte, Willy Ley, Robert Lowndes, Frank Robinson, Michael Rosenblum (Futurian War Digest), Paul H. Spencer, Charles R. Tanner, Tigrina (Vice Versa), Bob Tucker (le Zombie), Art Widner (FanFare),and Harry Warner, Jr. (Spaceways, Horizons).
