The Alchemist was a science fiction and fantasy fanzine edited by Charles Ford Hanson, Lew Martin and Roy Hunt (1915-1986) and published by Charles Ford Hanson in Denver, Colorado, U.S.A.
Seven issues of The Alchemist were released, the first in February 1940 and the last in the Winter of 1947. It was a mimeographed fanzine contained articles, stories, and poetry of a fantasy bent. The editors were all founding members of the Colorado Fantasy Society.
Cover art work was by Hannes Bok for the Summer 1940 issue, Vol. 1 No. 3. His illustrations also appeared in the December 1940 (#4) issue and the February 1941 (#5) issue. Art by Roy Hunt, Damon Knight and J. Allen St. John also appeared in the fanzine.
