On Random Hold was an apazine edited by Steve Green and distributed via the Birmingham Science Fiction Group's amateur press association Apa-B (later known as The Organisation; later still, fully independent of the BSFG).
Unlike Peter Weston's Prolapse and Martin Tudor's Empties, which also initially appeared in Apa-B mailings, it did not evolve into a general-circulation fanzine.
On Random Hold occasionally assumed other titles - such as Dry Hair's For Squidz, Events in Dense Fog, Small Blue Thing and Dark Cafe Days - but the underlying numbering was maintained throughout.
