John Crawford is a zinester and a comics artist whose is best know for his comic strip, Baboon Dooley Rock Critic!.

In the 1980's and 1990's, Baboon Dooley Rock Critic! ran in hundreds of punk fanzines such as Maximum Rock 'N' Roll. It is estimated that his comic strip appeared in more than two hundred different zines, as well as on posters and record covers. It was occasionally at the center of controversy in the scene when, for instance, in the 1980's he created a strip critical of the band MDC. According to Marc Arsenault, this type of controversy lead to the mere mention of his name being taboo at Maximum Rock 'N' Roll, largely due to his take on various California Bay Area feuds in his comic strip Queen of the Scene.

Crawford also published a zine called All The Drugs You Can Eat in the 1980's.

He also released a collection of his comic strips, entitled Baboon Dooley Rock Critic! Baboon Gets Ahead in Life, published by Popular Reality in 1988.
