A LetterHack is a writer whose main or most notable interaction with zines is by writing Letters of Comment (or LoCs).
This phrase is most common among science fiction fanzine editors and fans. Among the best-known LetterHacks of the past are the late Harry Warner, Jr. (Spaceways, Horizons), and the late Mike Glicksohn (Energumen, Xenium]]); more recently notables are Lloyd Penney (Torus),, Robert Lichtman (Trap Door), Milt Stevens, Steve Jeffery and E.B. Frohvet (Twink).
Each year, the FAan Awards presents the Harry Warner Jr. Memorial Award for Best Letterhack:
