Brainscan is a perzine written by Alex Wrekk.
Alex started Brainscan in 1997 when she lived in Salt Lake City, Utah and moved to Portland, Oregon in 1999. Since then she has published over thirty issues, many have been spwas nominated folit zines. Brainscan issues come in different sizes and are known for its cut and paste layout.
Brainscan issue 19 was one of the zines selected for the 2003 tour of North America by Mobilivre-Bookmobile, the traveling library in a trailer of independent publications.
Brainscan was nominated for an Utne Reader award in 2006
