The Zine Team is a Savannah, Georgia-based collective made up of like-minded zinesters and minicomic artists. Most members either currently attend or are alumni of the Savannah College of Art and Design.
Membership
Zine Team leaders consider their organization as quite open and including anyone in Savannah who makes zines and minicomics. The leaders look at the Zine Team as more of a support group and network, rather than a club with exclusive membership.
Events
The Zine Team plans to hold the first orginized Zine Team Zine Fair on April 21, 2007. They plan on making it an annual event to serve the Savannah area. This event is in place of the loss of the late-SCAD Student Media Record & Zine Fair that used to occur every winter.
Founders & Leaders
Founding members and current leaders of the current Zine Team:
The District/Student Media Connection
Many prominent Zine Team members have strong connections to The District, the Savannah College of Art and Design's student run newspaper. Many members have comics that run weekly (Joe Bevill, Jon Chadurjian, Brett Muller, Pranas T. Naujokaitis) and some members work for the paper itself (Jessica Clary, Michael Jewel, Mary Reed). Other Zine Team members are also involved with other aspects of student media such as SCADRadio (the college's radio station) and The Hive (the college's internet services).
Collectives Within the Zine Team
Some exclusive, loose, and/or overlaping collectives exist within the Zine Team, such as:
