Icky A. is a zinester from the U.S.A.
Icky has lived in a number of States in the U.S.A. He is best known as the editor of Nosedive zine.
Nosedive first appeared in the 1990's. Nosedive appeared as a split zine with Sty Zine in 1996, edited by another icki, also known as Mark Murrmann; later, the 12th issue appeared as a split zine with Crude Noise by Meredith Stern. In 1997, a selection from Nosedive appeared in Volume II of the Zine Yearbook. Icky was given the award for 'Best Radical Historian' by The Williamette Weekly for Issue seven of Nosedive, a double issue featuring Portland's radical past; anarchist lumberjacks, bike radicals, the WWI, The Cannery Strikes, Portland Black Panther Party, feminist witches, Dr. Marie Equi, and local paper The Firebrand, are part of the extensively researched collection of articles to be found in this issue of Nosedive.
Nosedive, and Icky's woodcut art were featured in the art exhibition The Copyist Conspiracy: An Exhibition of Zine Art, devoted to the art work of zine editors, which was held in San Francisco in November of 2005. Then, in 2006, Icky's work was included in the show No Need For Sleep: an exhibition of visual art by zine makers and the zines they produce, first held in Madison, Wisconsin in October and then in Milwaukee in November of 2006.
Nosedive was one of twenty zines featured in the book Stories Care Forgot: An Anthology of New Orleans Zines, edited by Ethan Clark with an introduction by John Gerken, and published by Last Gasp in 2006.
