The Outsider
The Outsider by R. Alain Everts is a fanzine devoted to H. P. Lovecraft.
This publication was created for the second mailing of the Esoteric Order of Dagon Apa.
The cover of the first issue features a map of Providence drawn by Lovecraft. Inside this issue, Everts talks to Lovecraft's wife, Sonia Haft Greene Lovecraft Davis about Lovecraft's personal life. Evert also presents poetry by William Hope Hodgson, and conducts a rebuttal of Sam Moskowitz's biography of Hodgson's life. There is also poetry by Nora May French, a contemporary of Clark Ashton Smith who took her own life at 26, and was much loved by the writers of the 1920s and 1930s, appearing in many publications of that time. As well, there is a reproduction of Lovecraft's holograph in a letter circa 1916.
