First published in April 2002, the zine is subtitled "Tales of washday woe." It compiles anecdotes and poetry about "doing the laundry, mending clothing, Laundromat disasters, and other fiascoes" from seventeen contributors, including Miranda Celeste Hale, Matt Holdaway, and Celia Perez.
The zine is part of "The Low Hug Life Maintenance Series." Selections from Laundry Basket were collected in a best-of compilation named Practice Apartment (along with selections from 12 Items or Less and Potluck!).
