Nina Zina
Nina Zina is a zine maker based in Belgium who runs the zine project Echo Zines. She has published the zines Same heartbeats, Flapper Gathering, Scissors and chainsaws, among others since 2001. In her zines, she writes about DIY culture, feminist activism, travelling, self-care, witchcraft, music (including about her own band Lavender Witch, ex-band Vagina Dentata, and solo project Lost Luna), and the adventures of her stuffed bunny Chainsaw Bunny. Her zines are sold by several distros and can be found in zine libraries in Belgium, Canada, Germany, the Netherlands, the UK, and the US.
Nina Zina also teaches zine workshops, organises small zine events, and blogs about zine culture. She regularly participates in zine fests in Europe and has been a guest in a few podcasts about anarcha-feminism, riot grrrl, punk, and politics. Some of her zines and illustrations have appeared in the books Feminist Media: Participatory Spaces, Networks and Cultural Citizenship, and Riot Grrrl: Revolution Girl Style Now, and she has contributed to dozens of zines.
