Handshake was a newsletter for Science Fiction poets edited by John Francis Haines (d. 2011) and published by Dunnock Press.
Handshake was published at irregular intervals in Warrington, England, UK. It was subtitled "British SF Poets' Newsletter", and was the news sheet of the Eight Hand Gang, the British network of Science Fiction poets. Begun in 1992, it was created in cut and paste style, and xeroxed. It was usually a single sheet of A4 paper, one side featuring news and the other, genre poems. At least 75 issues appeared. Issue #75 was a special issue consisting of 12 pages, and 50 poems.
Contributors have included Anthony Bernstein, Bruce Boston, Iestyn Bulloc, Cardinal Cox, Andrew Darlington (Ludd's Mill), Elaine Day, Peter Day, AC Evans, Bryn Fortey, Douglas Forward, JC Hartley, Mark Hudson, Raymond Leonard, John Light, Richard Lung, Giovanni Malito, Brian Maycock, pHIL nICHOLLS, Eric Ratcliffe, Tony Renney, Steve Sneyd (Data Dump), Geoff Stevens, Joanne Tolson, Paul Tristam, Bill West, E. Jodi Woodward, and many others.
In 2002, John Howard's House of Moonlight press published A Handshake Anthology, with an introduction by John Haines.
