Mark Murrmann (AKA icki) is a zinester, writer, punk singer, publisher, and professional photographer, currently residing in Oakland, CA.
Murrmann began publishing Sty Zine in 1991 when he was in highschool in Indianapolis, Indiana. He published the zine throughout the 1990's. He was coordinator for the large punk zine Maximum Rock N Roll from April 1998 to November 1998 and continues to work at the zine, including writing a column and reviewing records. While co-coordinator of Maximum Rock N Roll Murrmann compiled compHELLation, a discography of Killed By Death type compilations, which was published in 1999 by MRR. More recently, he curated the Photo Issue of Maximum Rock N Roll, which came out in February 2010. He has also contributed to the zines SuperBlackBlack and Velour, published by Migraine.
In recent years Murrmann has focused on his photography, which ranges from street and band photos to more high profile coverage of Washington, DC politics.
