Cari Goldberg Janice was a zine publisher, editor and book writer. She was co-editor of Factsheet Five, along with Mike Gunderloy, in the late 1980s and early 1990s.
In 1992 Goldberg Janice co-authored with Mike Gunderloy The World of Zines: A Guide to the Independent Magazine Revolution for Penguin Books. The book compiled some of their favorite zines from the pages of F5. Her rather humorous bio from her 1992 book:
"Cari Golberg Janice lives in a house in Albany, New York with her husband and many hundreds of books. In addition to co-publishing Factsheet Five, her other past jobs include waitress, chef, secretary, bookstore clerk, Meals-on-Wheels deliverer, perzine publisher, and typesetter. Her range of talents includes being able to detect celebrity voices and appearances in movies, radio or television and to cross-reference them better than anyone else. Anyone wishing to exploit this talent or offer her another book deal can reach her in Albany."
Soon after "The World of Zines" was published Goldberg Janice left Factsheet Five to raise a family (at the same time Gunderloy decided to stop publishing the zine). She's had little involvement in the zine community since 1992.
