The relevancy to zines escapes me. Did I miss something? If not, perhaps this could be deleted. InvisibleFriend 23:24, 18 April 2007 (EDT)

Some people prefer to call their zines chapbooks, it's hard sometimes to know where the line is between a one-shot and a chapbook. I guess delete if author hasn't written anything that he/she considers a zine. But we've let a lot of the chapbooks that Tom Hendricks' added stay. Alan Fall of Autumn 19:05, 27 May 2007 (EDT)

Talk - Spooneye

Tom Hendricks here. I received Spooneye as a zine in a pack of zines from Zine World for me to review, IIRC. I admit it is very unusual - but it is a zine. And as a zine or chapbook it is one of the most impressive and offbeat ones I've ever seen. It is also notable for its high quality and incredible creativity. Just because it is a rule book for a bizarre game and it is a one shot - does not mean it doesn't fit in zinewiki. I encourage you to look at a copy if you can. You'll see that it fits. Chapbooks, for me, are just one time zines. And as long as they are from zinesters and'or part of the zine community I think they fit. I don't think it should be excluded unless you've seen it . I think then you'll agree with me that it fits. Musea 22:46, 27 May 2007 (EDT)

How are rules for a game a chapbook? I'm not doubting it's creativity or quality, but it sounds like an indie produced games, of which there are tons out there, and not really zine related. www.cheapass.com has tons of this kind of stuff, some quite cool independently produced games, but they are obviously not zine related. Can any instruction manual really be considered a zine? It seems to open the door to tons more irrelevant things. dan10things 14:29, 28 May 2007 (EDT)

It's not just rules - its a zine in a zine cover that is about card games, showing the rules to one. Plus some rants about card games and more. There are zines for travel, music, and now cards. Yes its an unusual zine - but that 's what zines are about. We shouldn't limit zinewiki to look-a-like zines that fit a certain basic mould. All the best ones wouldn't fit. I really encourage anyone to just look at this zine for yourself.Musea 22:06, 3 June 2007 (EDT)

I would suggest then you say that more clearly in the description. Say specifically "it's a zine about card games" instead of "Spooneye is unique in being a rule book for a card game called 'Spooneye'." You can say it's a zine all you want in the discussion, but the rest of us are reading the actual article and seeing no relation to zines. So I think the problem lies in the way the article is written. dan10things 22:28, 3 June 2007 (EDT)

I think your suggestion is a good one, Dan. If I may, I'll take the liberty of changing the text of the article and using just what you've written here - "It's a zine about a card game". That will clear things up considerably. InvisibleFriend 02:10, 4 June 2007 (EDT)

Sounds like a good solution all around.Musea 12:19, 7 June 2007 (EDT)
