Adventures In Menstruating
Adventures In Menstruating is a zine created by United Kingdom resident Chella Quint.
The zine covers a wide variety of aspects about menstruation, especially societal taboos against discussing periods and mass media's marketing of "feminine hygiene" products. Starting with issue 1 in August 2005, the zine has included deconstruction of vintage ads and personal anecdotes of "leakage horror," as well as poems, songs, and crafts with a feminist view of menstruation.
Microcosm Publishing described Adventures in Menstruating: "Funny and heart wrenching stories are interwoven between hilarious analysis of menstruation product ads (which are sometimes funny and sometimes painful). It's really good to see humour injected into this subject, done in a smart and clever way."
The zine ran to 7 issues in total, in 2021 Chella published 2 books about period positivity for children and adults.
