Zak Sally is a cartoonist and musician. He is the founder of La Mano 21, an independent publishing company behind his Eisner-nominated series Recidivist and other critically-acclaimed books. . A native of Duluth, Minnesota, Sally has illustrated numerous zines and minicomics.

Sallyhas collaborated with other underground cartoonists, including Mr. Mike (Rump), and John Porcellino (King-Cat Comics and Stories).

Zak Sally is perhapsbest known for his 15-year career as a musician, having anchored the Duluth, Minnesota band Low for over a decade in addition to moonlighting with the Dirty Three, Enemymine, Hot Tears, and Kid Dakota, and making cameos in movies like Shopgirl.
