Michael Sugar (Born Michael David Sugarman but also went by names including Muhammad Aswar and David Drambuie- June 7th, 1969 - July 24th, 1996) was a zine editor and writer during the 1990s. He was raised in Denver, Colorado.

Sugar wrote for various zines while he was working as a professor in Boston. Two of his students, M Lloyd and Jay Crasdan, introduced him to zines when they were in his Western Civilization class in 1993. He wrote a number of articles for Lloyd's zine That Rounded V and for Stacked Decks. He also edited Sweet As Sugar for two issues before his suicide at the age of 27.

Sugar's essay Crying for That Sexy Girl, was used as the introduction for SaBean MoreL's Trying to Fuck The Furniture
