Indulgence
indulgence was a perzine/artzine written by eleanor whitney. whitney concentrated just as much on presentation as she did on her writing and the results were astounding. visually interesting, her zines often included recycled wallpapers, handsewn bindings, block printed pages and covers, and incorporated unique pockets and folds into the document design. indulgence was a labor of love and it showed in every copy she produced, privileging quality over quantity and process as much as product.
whitney's writing was critical, in depth, and captivating. she helped start the zine collection at barnard college, co-founded the portland zine symposium, and co-publishes riffrag, an e-zine/paper zine focused on queer art, artists, writers, and activists.
