No Barcodes Necessary was a hardcore punk zine from Northern Ireland.
No Barcodes Necessary was written by Mel Hughes. Around seven issues were released between 1993 and 1999. It contained interviews, zine and music reviews. It covered the DIY punk hardcore scene in Ireland and the UK at the time with interviews with the punk photographer Andy Thompson, with the then prolific DIY punk record label Flat Earth records, with one of the biggest distributors of music and zines in the UK Active distribution, and also with Armed with Anger Records.
