Derek Neuland was born January 29, 1982 in North Tonawanda (a suburb of Buffalo), NY, U.S.A.
He first started reading zines in the mid 90's after purchasing a copy of Maximum Rock 'n' Roll from Discovery Records, a local record store in his hometown Tonawanda, NY. Shortly after, he started his first zine Backstabber. He released 4 issues of Backstabber before taking a 5 year break from making zines.
He returned to making zines with his personal zine All Things Ordinary after he moved to Portland, OR in April 2009. In June 2010, Derek started the blog Overglued to help bring more publicity to zines and indie comics.
Derek Neuland is also a current Portland Zine Symposium organizer.
