More Noise and Other Disturbances (also known simply as More Noise) was a fanzine produced between 2002 and 2004, named after the Mighty Mighty Bosstones album of the same name.
It featured extensive live reviews from Portsmouth and Brighton, and interviews with a number of prominent punk and ska bands of the time including Lightyear, Propagandhi, Howards Alias, Goldfinger and Ye Wiles, among others. The zine was very closely linked with Punknews UK and shared many contributors. Typically, a gig would be organised at The Horseshoe in Portsmouth each time a new issue was completed.
While the typography was laid out on computer, the whole zine was produced traditionally using cut and paste techniques. It was also produced in small batches leading to some variations in content (as typos were detected, or adverts added and facts corrected) across a single issue. Issue #3 was notable for including a 12 track compilation CD featuring many local bands such as Blame it on Edd, Pickled Dick, Ska Gal & the Hands of Ra, Out of Luck and Random Heroes. Cover artwork was commonly sourced from retro postcards, rarely relevant to the content, and commonly featured animals.
Issue 5 was promised and close to completion on a number of occasions but never saw the light of day. Following a hiatus, the zine returned in 2009 with new and old contributors under the name Angry at the Bus Stop.
