Raise Your Horns is a perzine written by Hadass S. Ben-Ari, based in Jerusalem, Israel.
The first issue is about the author's life as a metalhead. It includes art and articles about how the author got into metal, bands that she likes, concerts and festivals she went to, her favorite genres of metal, a piece about her favorite metal band, and a segment about the Jerusalem metal scene. It includes the author's comics and mascot "Twigz".
The second issue focusses more on female-fronted or all-female metal bands that the author likes. It includes a piece about misogyny in brutal death metal and about the changes made to the culture. It also features details about the bands that the author likes, a poem, a collage and a segment of the comics "Twigz."
The zine is hand-made cut-n-paste: written by hand and on a manual typewriter, laid out with scissors, glue, paper, construction paper, flyers and magazines, and pen or pencil drawings. The zine is quarter-page size (A6). The cover of issue 2 was created on computer, and some pieces were written on computer.
Issue 1 was published in November 2018 as part of ZineWriMo 2018. And issue 2 was published on November 2022, also as part of the challenge.
