The Trenton Free Public Library in New Jersey has a circulating zine library, created in August 2021. There are currently 50 zine titles, from the 1990s to current day, along with books about zine culture. Many more are waiting to be cataloged. Zines are located in the Poetry Cafe on the first floor of the library at 120 Academy Street in downtown Trenton, and can be accessed during regular library hours. Those with a TFPL library card can borrow any titles with barcodes for a period of two weeks. There are also many free zines for the taking.
The Trentoniana Local History Department at the library also holds a non-circulating New Jersey Zines ("Jer-Zines") Collection which can be accessed in their reading room, currently open by appointment. A guide to the collection is available at https://trentonlib.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/01/Coll.-3-Zine-Collection.pdf
"Trenton Free Public Zine presents……" is the library's very own zine series with topics of Trenton interest. Mini-zines about the history of the library itself, the Battle Monument, Trenton on the eve of the Revolution, Hedgepath-Williams vs. Board of Ed, the ad man R.C. Maxwell, Needham Roberts, and of course, Pork Roll, are all free to grab in the Poetry Cafe.
