Encuentro was a hardcore zine self described as a "Journal of Political Hardcore."
The zine featured activist interviews, band interviews, essays, and sparse advertisements for record labels or altruistic causes. When this zine was discontinued it was replaced by the zine Out From the Shadows which was much more focused on the political rather than musical aspects of Vegan Straight Edge Hardcore.
