Action Girl Guide was first published in the Winter of 1993 by Sarah Dyer, who was the sole creator and contributor of the zine.
Action Girl Guide reviewed zines by young women and provided listings for distros, Riot Grrrl chapters, and other feminist or female-oriented projects. Dyer also occasionally published a condensed version of Action Girl Guide called Action Girl Newsletter.
Action Girl Guide is included in the Sarah Wood Zine Collection at Duke University, and in the Sophia Smith Zine Collection at Smith Collese.
