Jesus Christ Superzine is a zine by Ariel Birks.
It deals mostly with her personal history as an evangelical teen (and her transition into a non-evangelical adult), but also tries to explain aspects of Christianity and the appeal of evangelical Christianity. Issue #1 was nominated for 2009's Best Zine of the Year by the Utne Reader. A revised second edition is due out in fall of 2009 and a second issue in 2010. The third issue is also in the works, a submission-based issue where people give their own stories of coming out of religious upbringing, or finding their own spiritual path.
