Mark Hanford is a writer, radio DJ, punk bassist, record label owner, and zinester from Boise, ID, now living in Santa Cruz, CA.

In the mid-80s, Hanford published In The City zine, which focused on the burgeoning Boise punk scene. In the early 90s, he, along with Paul Blunt, edited and published Blunt, which also focused on Boise bands and music. Hanford also wrote some articles for early issues of Punk Planet and did Boise scene reports for Maximum Rock 'N' Roll, as well as doing other one-off articles and columns for various zines.

In 1996, Hanford convinced Tim Yohannon to let him write a column for Maximum Rock 'N' Roll on punk rock and the Internet. This column continued until 2003.

Hanford was also a radio DJ in Boise, hosting 4 hour Mutant Pop radio show every Wednesday night on KBSU (later BSU Radio) between 1987 and 1997.

He also played bass for Idaho's Haggis from 1991 to 1997 and in Santa Cruz's The Sealants from 2003 to 2007.

He released records for various Idaho bands on his Screwball Productions label.
