Protest zine is a anarcho punk and crust punk zine from Cork, Ireland.
Protest zine was/is written by Sean Fitzgerald, with contributions by various others at the start (Steve, Sly, Peter-2-liter, Gus and many others). Around two to four issues were released a year between 1989 and 1996. With interviews, zine and music reviews the zine mainly covering D-beat, crust, and anarcho bands and labels.
Protest zine came back in 2002 as a website. 2003 saw the release of it in print again, with a much better distribution. There is also a few label releases (Fleas and Lice/Violent Phobia, Stress, compilation benefit for food not bombs). Past interviews include Active Minds, Chaos UK, Discharge, Disorder, Excrement of War, Extinction of Mankind, Fleas & Lice, Misery, Paranoid Visions,Pink Turds in Space, Skitsystem, Varukers, Wolfbrigade and all the usual crust favourites.
