Amy Spencer is a former zine writer and record label founder, and current author of two books on DIY culture.
After beginning her writing career in the zine world, Spencer signed a book deal and published the book Media:DIY: The Rise of Lo-Fi Culture, which centers around underground music, arts and do-it-yourself publishing (i.e. zines). A couple of years later she focused on crafting with the book The Crafter Culture Handbook.
