Zines can be any size or format, since there is no strict definition of what a 'zine' is.
In the 2000s, a small group of zine creators began publishing very small zines and decided to call attention to the size of these zines by using the term mini zines to describe them. Within this category these zine editors decided to define a mini zine as being smaller than 5" x 8".
