Caught In Flux was a fanzine published in New York City from 1993-1999 by Mike Appelstein.
Appelstein was "a huge fan" of the early Eighties post-punk music scene. In later issues, he set out to document the artists on Rough Trade and Cherry Red Records.
Caught In Flux #4 included an interview with Palmolive, former drummer for The Slits and The Raincoats, who had emigrated to the U.S.A. and become a Born Again Christian. Instead of disavowing her punk rock past, Palmolive played in a church band, performing Christianized versions of Slits songs such as "Frequent Mutilation."
Caught In Flux is included in the Sophia Smith Zine Collection at Smith College and the Sarah and Jen Wolfe Zine Collection at The University of Iowa.
