The name for this fanzine, blackjack & nutten (German for "blackjack and hookers"), edited by Frau H., comes from a quote from the TV show Futurama, in which the character Bender says, "Yeah, well, I‘m gonna go build my own theme park. With blackjack, and hookers! In fact…forget the park!“
This zine is written in German and dealing with everything around pop culture, featuring articles about music, film, photography, poems, quizzes and d.i.y. bits. Most issues are loosely based around a certain theme, such as "Indie" (#1), "Sexism" (#2) or "Night Owls" (#4). It is available for free in some record stores, bars, cafés or downloadable from their homepage. It's funded partly by advertisements.
b&n is now based in Manchester, UK, and the first English / German issue (#4) will be released in May 2009.
