The Basement Bookshop was located in the back of the Basement Radical Social Centre in Manchester, England. They sold a selection of books on various topics including anarchism, anarcho-syndicalism, insurrectionism, anarcho-primitivism, situationism, marxist theory, post-marxist theory, feminism, animal rights, bike maintenance, history, subvertising, and DIY sex toys.
They also carried many local zines, as well as some non-local zines.
In 2007, a neighborhood fire caused the Centre to flood [1] and it was forced to close down. [2] The temporary close stretched on with no news from the collective. [3] Presumably they were unable to fix the space and were forced to close permanently.
