The ''Newcastle Zine and Independent Press Fair'' is one of the largest events of its kind in the world, and certainly the largest in the Southern Hemisphere. Drawing together all manner of zinesters, comics nerds, general artists and small / independent publishers, it takes place as part of the National Young Writers' Festival, which itself is part of the ever sprawling This Is Not Art Festival.

The Newcastle Zine and Independent Press Fair began in 2000.

  • 2007: Sunday 30th September, between 12:00pm and 6:00pm.
  • 2008: Sunday 5th October, between 12:00pm and 5:00pm.
  • 2009: Sunday 4th October, between 12:00pm and 5:00pm.
