Michael Sugar (Born Michael David Sugarman but also went by names including Muhammad Aswar and David Drambuie- June 7th, 1969 - July 24th, 1996) was a zine editor and writer during the 1990s. He was raised in Denver, Colorado.
Sugar wrote for various zines while he was working as a professor in Boston. Two of his students, M Lloyd and Jay Crasdan, introduced him to zines when they were in his Western Civilization class in 1993. He wrote a number of articles for Lloyd's zine That Rounded V, and for Stacked Decks. He also edited Sweet As Sugar for two issues before his suicide at the age of 27.
