Zig Zag is a monthly magazine devoted to art, writing, and free speech. It is an independent publication in South West Florida started by students at the Ringling College of Art and Design in May 2010, using the school's resources but in no way controlled or approved by the administration.

Zig Zag is currently planning for its fifth issue, looking forward to holding events to better connect the diverse array of musicians, word slingers, and visual arts in Sarasota, Florida.

The creative team is a solid trio: Brett Lindstrom (graphic designer/painter), Van Jazmin (illustrator/promoter/photographer), and and Jack Price (illustrator/writer/editor). The three are referred to as the Zig Zag Crew, but they emphasize that the true "crew" are the contributors who come to the releases, donate color copies, and send in entries. Contributors range from college students to local starving artists to mystery men.

The purpose of Zig Zag Magazine is to showcase local artists, and better yet give them an incentive to pursue public expression. The slogan of the 'zine is a quote from Jello Biafra, "Don't hate the media, be the media."
