Wastebasket was a science fiction fandom fanzine by Vernon McCain (d. 10 June, 1958).

Wastebasket was published in Eugene, Oregon, U.S.A. in the 1950s. The subtitle of the fanzine was "The Crudzine". The co-editor, as of issue four, was Walt Willis.

The Staff Artist was Rosco Wright (Beyond, Eusifanso, Viewpoints) and other art work was by Shelby Vick (Confusion).

Contributors of writing included A. Bertram Chandler, Rory Faulkner (Shangri L'Affaires), Norman E. Hartman (Viewpoints), Lee Hoffman (Quandry), Bill Morse, Bill Venable (The Pendulum), Shelby Vick, and Walt Willis (Slant).

Wastebasket was distributed by the Fantasy Amateur Press Association.
