Subtitled, "The monthly newsletter of the Philadelphia Folksong Society", this began in the 1960s as a 12 page, 8.5" X 5.5" fanzine covering the folk-song revival scene in Philadelphia as well as covering international performers such as Peter, Paul and Mary, Joan Baez, Don Crawford, and Hedy West. Early issues were edited by Janet Hauguel.

Tune Up was one of a handful of fanzines devoted to folk music that were published in the 1950s and 1960s, along with Ontario's Hoot, and Sing and String, and the U.S.A.'s Caravan, Gardyloo, and The Little Sandy Review.
