The Heart Star

The Heart Star was a one-shot comic zine written and illustrated by Christoph Meyer of Ohio. Meyer wrote and illustrated the story in one day (on January 31st, 2003).

Meyer was inspired to write the story after receiving a heart-shaped hole punch, as a gift from Travis Kline of Sunshine Capital zine, in the mail. The zine is in black & white, except for the heart of a restless spirit, which Meyer colored in red by hand on each page.

The first edition of The Heart Star, featuring a lino-print cover, was limited to 324 hand-numbered and initialed copies.

The Heart Star is included in the West Coast Zine Collection at San Diego State University.
