As it would be impossible to chronicle the entire history of the medium, this article is more about the word "zine" and the things it has described. (I doubt the dadaists referred to their creations as "zines" (though that might make an interesting article)). Please feel free to add important information you think has been neglected. Zines were also used in the Dada and Situationist art movements. The look of Situationist zines directly influenced the cut and paste and ransom letter looks of punk zines.
