Other contributors included R. Flavie Carson, Stanton Coblentz (Wings), e.e.cummings, August Derluth, John Jakes, David H. Keller, Lilith Lorraine (Different, Challenge, Flame), Merrill Moore, Clark Ashton Smith, Bob Tucker (Le Zombie), and William Carlos Williams.

The last issue published was Spearhead Vol. 2 No. 2, which appeared in Spring 1951. It featured the poem Since We Are Property by Lilith Lorraine.

Thomas Carter also ran Spearhead Press, which published XJ Kennedy (Joe Kennedy)'s book No Greater Dream and other Fantastic Tales in 1949, for which Carter wrote the introduction.

Thomas H. Carter was also one of the founders and editors of The Shenandoah Review and, upon his tragic death in 1963 at age 32, was made the namesake of its literary prize.
