Portraits is an 136 page novel chapbook from Musea Press by Tom Hendricks. It is about art, artists, and the art revolution. A group of indie artist form a co-op to improve their chances for breakthroughs in the art world. Jack Labas, one of the painters known for his ability with portraits, falls in love with a fellow artist, dress designer Francesca. Their love story becomes complicated due to Jack's secret admirer, who signs her letters, Missy. The co-op is filled with characters with all different styles of art but all cooperative in their support for each other. The novel also contains drawings supposedly by Jack, of the three lead characters. The initial run was less than 20. It was published December 10th,1993. The chapbook also contains the essay, "Painting Reproduction Technology'.
