The Pocket Reader series is collection of monthly mini zines by Deirdree Prudence & Steven Purkey.

Pocket Reader series is published in Long Beach, California, & Vancouver, Washington, U.S.A. The first issue of this black and white photocopied biographical zine appeared in August 2012 with Where Will It End? A Joy Division Pocket Reader, followed by The Choom Gang: A Barack Obama Pocket Reader, the most recent issue, its third, released in October 2012, We Must Bleed: A Germs Pocket Reader.

1. Where Will It End? A Joy Division Pocket Reader ~ The story of Ian Curtis & the Manchester UK band that ignited the post-punk sound, Joy Division.

2. The Choom Gang: A Barack Obama Pocket Reader ~ The story of the teenaged pot smoking, idealistic Barry Obama in Hawaii.

3. We Must Bleed: A Germs Pocket Reader ~ The story of Darby Crash & the short-lived yet crazily influential Los Angeles punk band of the late '70s, The Germs.

Deirdree Prudence & Steven Purkey also co-edit the Pocket Reader series mini zines & Classical Snuff.
