The collection zine

Morgenmuffel (German for "Morning grouch") is an autobiographical zine consisting mainly of cartoons written and drawn by Isy from Brighton, UK. Tales told range from walking over hills to street demonstrations, volunteering in an anarchist social centre and dealing with co-operative living, plus the occasional list, zine review, or article thrown in.

Morgenmuffel also used to be a small zine distro but this side of things has folded.

Morgenmuffel issues 1 (which was in German) to 14 are not available anymore. Active Distribution printed a collection/'best of' from issues nos. 2-10, which is currently out of print but may be reprinted in future. The latest issue is No. 17, from late 2008. Stories include the adventures of the Anarchist Teapot, an American travelog, an illustrated guide to the menstrual cycle and a handy picture dictionary sharing with some German words.

Selections from Morgenmuffel were reprinted in volume nine of Zine Yearbook, published in 2008.
