Formed in 2002, the instigator of the group was [[Elke Zobl]], founder of the Grrrl Zine Network. As a visiting graduate student from Austria, Elke networked with local zinesters in San Diego. She hooked up with [[Margarat Nee]], creator of [[Oya]] and [[Radical Pet]], Glue Magazine’s [[Claudia Lucero]], [[Kim Riot]], creator of Grrrl Noire and Cyclette, and Wives Tale’s editrix Britton Neubacher. Claudia and Britton left the main collective to pursue their careers in 2004.
