HPL is a fanzine by Meade and Penny Frierson devoted to H. P. Lovecraft.
The first issue ofHPL, subtitled "A Tribute to Howard Phillips Lovecraft", was published in 1972 in Birmingham, Alabama, U.S.A. It was 144 pages, and was published in a limited run of 1,000 copies.
Artwork was by Herb Arnold, Richard Corben, Lee Brown Coye, Stephan Fabian, Danny Frolich, Jim Garrison, Tim Kirk, Robert Kline, Harry O. Morris, Gary Myers, Mike Scott, John Swanson, and Denis Tiani.
Poetry was by L. Sprague de Camp, R. Alain Everts (The Outsider), Meade Frierson, and Robert E. Howard.
