Folk marketing, 2008 : a photographic survey (September 2008) is a one-off photographic zine published in Sydney by Samuel Bruce. The genesis of the zine was described by Bruce in the introduction as follows: “My interest in Folk Marketing began in May 2008 when, as a contributor to Spilt milk zine, I was asked to provide a photograph and critique of a piece of street art… The project has since expanded into a catalogue of over 200 photographs and a physical collection of nearly 100 signs. The first Folk Marketing exhibition was held in late June and the collection continues to grow. Folk Marketing represents a rich source of vernacular typography and naïve graphic design.”
