The record, put out by Reno's 702 Records, features four previously unreleased songs by the Queers, the Hi-Fives, Scared of Chaka and Ten-Four. All the bands were fans of the zine and wrote songs about washing dishes. An issue of Dishwasher zine was stapled into the cover of the record.

Dishwasher zine followed editor/publisher Dishwasher Pete's (the pen name for Pete Jordan) mission to wash dishes in all 50 U.S. states. 15 issues of the perzine were published between 1989-2001. A book culled from Pete's zine and stories entitled DISHWASHER: One Man's Quest to Wash Dishes in All Fifty States will be in bookstores May 1st, 2007.

One issue came with an accompanying 7" compilation called Music to Wash Dishes By.
